The Consortium for Technical Education (CTE) and SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, have formalized a strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance cybersecurity education. As part of this collaboration, phase 1 of a specialized training program on Application Security – Vulnerability Assessment was launched at the newly established Cyber Resilience and Asset Intelligence Lab at SRMIST.
This initiative marks the beginning of a structured effort to bridge the gap between academia and industry by equipping students and faculty with practical, industry-relevant cybersecurity skills. The training program aims to provide participants with hands-on experience in identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities, fostering a resilient and security-conscious digital ecosystem.
K. A. Alagarsamy, Director of CTE, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating: ”At CTE, our core mission is to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing students with access to industry-relevant knowledge and practical exposure to emerging technologies. Our partnership with SRMIST strengthens this objective by fostering a learning ecosystem where students can develop critical cybersecurity skills through hands-on experience. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to empowering future professionals with the expertise needed to navigate and secure the digital landscape.”
Sairaman Srinivasan, Chief Strategy Officer at CTE, highlighted the multi-faceted approach of the collaboration, stating: ”This partnership encompasses three core pillars: the joint development of industry-aligned curriculum, systematic capacity-building initiatives, and the establishment of robust knowledge-sharing frameworks. This strategic alliance will facilitate continuous learning and innovation, cultivating cybersecurity professionals equipped with both advanced technical competencies and practical industry insights.”
Dr. M. Lakshmi, Professor & Head, Department of Networking and Communications, School of Computing, SRMIST, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating: ”We are excited to launch Phase 1 of our Training Program on Application Security – Vulnerability Assessment at the Cyber Resilience and Asset Intelligence Lab.
